Love kiwi country

Great camper but appliances/features not working
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the camper van however the kettle provided was broken, the sound system only played out of the rear speakers, and the window screen washers did not work (forcing me to clean multiple times at fuel stations). I think this could all have been avoided with a thorough vehicle inspection before it was handed over to us.

Best trip of my life
Went on the bus expecting to have a good time, but could never have imagined having such a great time! There isn't a single thing that could have been improved. Made some friends for life and couldn't have been more gutted to have come home. Shoutout to quagmire for welcoming the unit on board!

Best way to visit NZ as a solo traveller
I am glad I chose KE for my visit to NZ. I could have not visited all those wonderful places using a conventional bus service.

Best way to see the countryside
The best decision we made when travelling to New Zealand was to hire a campervan. We actually got to see the country, not just the attractions in each city. Everyone in the holiday parks were very friendly and it was fun to see some of the same faces turn up in our travels. Plenty of good quality linen was supplied, including a lovely fluffy doona. Cups, plates, all types of cutlery, even a toaster and a fan heater. If anything was missing it was perhaps a bed light as I enjoy reading. I’d definitely travel in a campervan again

Fun and thorough tour of New Zealand
Overall the Kiwi Experience is a great way to travel NZ on a budget. There is nearly always a sale on the tours so they aren’t that expensive if you catch them at the right time. Great way to meet new people, but if you have time you should hop off the bus wherever you can to experience more of NZ as if you constantly stayed with the bus it would be extremely tiring. There are also a large variety of activites the the Kiwi offers discounts on. However one thing to note especially in high season you need to plan and pre book extra nights if you wish to hop off the bus as if you don’t then there is nothing the kiwi bus can do for you- it is advertised as flexible but you really need to book everything but your activities in advance.
