Great experience
Overall I really enjoyed my kiwi experience. The people on your bus make it and luckily I was with like-minded adventure seekers!

One of the best things I’ve ever done
I travelled with a friend, both on our gap years, starting in Auckland and traveling north, and then following the Whole Kit and Caboodle down to Christchurch. I absolutely loved this tour, and have now met so many people that I will continue to stay in touch with once we’re back home. In the days before we started our tour, we felt quite lonely as we were in a new city and didn’t know anyone, but as soon as we were on the bus it was incredibly easy to meet people. The age group tends to be around 18-24 and everyone is in the same boat and as a result of this everyone makes friends immediately. We mostly stayed with the same group throughout, as most people tend to spend similar amounts of time in each place. The drivers all had so much knowledge and we learnt lots of facts about the places we were in that we wouldn’t have otherwise known, and they were as helpful as possible with any questions we had. I cannot recommend this trip enough, it is absolutely worth doing and really made my trip to New Zealand special and memorable.

So much fun!
We did the Northern round up tour with kiwi. Firstly we really enjoyed our time on New Zealand and on the bus and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to explore NZ but can’t drive. Also don’t do what we did and only do one island as we regret it so much! We were so sad to say bye to our friends on the bus as they all went onto the South Island. It is a great way to meet people and see lots of the island. We also got an intercity bus on part of our trip and it felt so dull and quiet, I think to travel the whole of NZ completely on intercity would get lonely. The trips are well organised and there’s always lots to do including free activities which the bus stops to do between locations - however, you will 100% want to do the more expensive activities, especially when lots of people on the bus are signing up to do them too. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money, we planned to do mostly free activities and only a few of the costly ones but ended up doing paid activities most days. They are so worth the money though - we loved Hobbiton, Skydive Taupo and Barbary sailing on Taupo - the Tongariro crossing also looked incredible and I regret missing it. The accommodation is sometimes a bit pricier than if you had booked in advance or elsewhere but it is nice staying in the same place as the rest of the bus. Although quite a bit of time is spent on the bus, it is usually early on in the day so you still get plenty of time in each place. There are also lots of breaks for photos, walks, etc. which breaks up the journey. I would advise spending longer in most places. River Valley and Taupo were my favourite spots on the North Island. One con I noticed was that our group was a bit cliquey and I don’t think our driver made enough of an effort to encourage everyone to mix and seemed to favour one group. But obviously it all varies group to group :) On our bus back North it was a lot quieter and less fun than our bus South so each bus varies. I definitely recommend and will go with kiwi again when I come back to do both islands this time!

Glad we chose to travel with kiwi experience. Glad we chose the largest pass possible to get full experience from NZ

Great way to meet people
It’s a good way to get around NZ and meet other people. The problem is it can feel like a school trip if you stick to minimum times

Kiwi (The Perfect Way To) Experience (New Zealand)
Bought the whole kit and caboodle after deciding to travel to NZ. Have not regretted it once since joining the trip. Kiwi Ex are a hugely flexible bus tour group where you can hop on and off to your hearts content, meet the most incredible people, and explore this awe-inspiring country. This already awesome trip is made even more so by the high calibre of tour guides who start to become close friends instead of drivers - legends.

Absolutely loved the kiwi experience
I have just finished travelling the whole of NZ with the kiwi experience and absolutely loved it. As a solo traveller it was great to meet a whole bunch of new people from all over the world, many of whom where also solo travellers and I will keep in contact with. The trip was effortless as all activities and accommodation could be planned for you and the drivers were super friendly (the best I had being Phil aka Stretch). All the activities that I did I loved and it was nice to do them with the other kiwi experience passengers as well. The buses were easy to spot being green which was always handy in car parks (except the one day when it wasn’t green...I’m still confused)!! The ease of changing the buses was good - just emailed the office and Jack sorted me right out! The places we visited were incredible, all the main sights of New Zealand plus a bunch of places “off the beaten track”. The hostels we were guaranteed were clean, tidy and cheap which is what you want. Loved it would definitely recommend.

Awesome
I arrived in New Zealand on my one and this was a great opportunity to travel with heaps of like minded people! So I did and I’m still glad about it. As long as you change your travel dates early enough, you won’t come into some troubles and don’t be disappointed about missing something for example. This art of travelling is a good compromise. I liked how helpful the drivers are and of course to meet a lot new mates!
