Spent just over a month on the bus, had a great time and met some great people.

I nearly didn't go with Kiwi because of all the rumours that Kiwi was just to hook up and get drunk with a bus full of teenagers. I'm 21, a uni grad on a gap year, and have a boyfriend back home - I like drinking with mates, but not every single night and definitely not with pressure. Kiwi was NOTHING like those reviews! No pressure, no FOMO, you have fun doing whatever the heck you like and it doesn't affect others and it's awesome. Some people went on benders every night but it didn't affect others at all, some hooked up and most didn't, but it didn't affect the vibe at all and there was no expectation of anything other than being a fun human! Drivers are different so if you don't like yours just hop on another bus, easy beans. Driver guides are generally great, the commentary is awesome, the activities are amazing, the accommodation is really good and everything is sorted on the bus every day so it literally could not be easier to be a lazy backpacker and have an insanely awesome time through Kiwi!

Literally had the best month of my life on the Kiwi Bus. The Sheepdog pass was the perfect way to explore NZs highlights! Amazing bus crew and everything was super easy to sort from groceries to activities to accommodation! Kiwi Experience takes the stress out of travelling and the drivers are wicked! Loved all the Kiwi Exp organised activities as well like the infamous party at Pooh Pub! Get a pass now, you are guaranteed to have an awesome time!!

Definitely worth doing! You see so many parts of New Zealand you probably wouldn't have thought about visiting on your travels alone. Rick was a great driver, really friendly, enthusiastic and full of knowledge. It's also a great chance to meet and travel with new people and not have the hassle of booking accommodation or activities yourself.

had the best 5 weeks of my life. Perfect for travelling on your own! made friends for life, including two of the bus drivers who were just awesome! (Shout out to guy and Dan!) 100% reccomdend it but don't rush your trip! will definitely be returning to New Zealand in the future. Thanks for a sweet as trip!

Whilst in Australia I had met a lot of people who had already done Kiwi and they all raved about it. My friend and I had booked our pass whilst still at home and didn't know what to expect but we were no disappointed. For the month we were in New Zealand, Kiwi Experience made our lives so easy with accomodation sorted, easy access to all of the activities we wanted and more and most importantly, making friends was so easy. Whilst travelling you meet a lot of people you do not want to leave but after spending 3/4 weeks with some people, we had acquired a small family which made the journey even more spectacular. I can not thank Kiwi enough for helping this country live up and beyond to all I had hoped and dreamed for.

I'm so glad me and my friend chose to travel New Zealand via kiwiex we had the best time and made the best group of friends. We were really sad when it ended

It's good that you have a year to start and then another year to complete your pass. However, due to busy buses it is definitely not as flexible as the website implies. Could definitely do more in the North Island and not one driver mentioned the add on to go East. Drivers should give their opinion on activities but they were sometimes quite rude about some of the options.
