We love getting feedback from our passengers after they complete their Kiwi Experience. Feedback helps us tweak Kiwi Experience for other passengers or simply lets us know when we've done a great job.
Some of our passengers stay in touch for years to come. We love that!

Nice way to travel
We travelled in NZ for two months with the Kiwi experience and it was a realy good experience!! Its very easy way of travelling. Its easy to make a call to the office to tell you your plan and to change the plan.(we where there in the low season). Most of the drivers are very nice and were very enthousiastic about telling you what to do in around the towns, if you wanted to have some advice. Its also very nice that they drop you off and pick you up in any town as long as it is on the route of the bus.

Not what I thought it would be
The Kiwi Experience Pass was sold to me as an carefree, easy 'hop-on-hop-off' pass. However, when I started my Kiwi Experience I found that this wasn't the case. When I got to New Zealand and got on my first bus I was told that I would have to pre-book all of my buses for my whole trip in the next few days due to the fact that it was their 'busiest season,' and that even if I did try to pre-book my buses at the beginning of my trip, there was still no guarantee that I would even get seats on these buses! This meant that I was stressed, and meant that I ended up staying too long in places that I didn't like, and not long enough in places that I did like, as I had to pre-book all of my buses, and so 'guesstimate' the amount of time I wanted to spend in each place before I even got there and got a feel of the place! This was really disappointing and it really affected my travelling experience. Furthermore, there also were several times that my itinerary was sent to me with incorrect dates. In addition, I was under the impression that the bus would get you from A to B, but it turns out that each journey took a long time, with many, many stops. A few stops would have been fine, but I found that we were stopping practically all the time (and weirdly 'forced' to go on walks), which made me really resent the journeys and not look forward to them. This again, was not what I was told the Kiwi Experience would be. I also felt like I was being penalised for taking my time while doing the Kiwi Experience, as I found that the priority for activities went to people that were doing it on the minimal amount of time. It was stressful and difficult for me to book activities through KE on days after the 'minimal' amount of time for places.

Good for seeing lots of New Zealand!
As we didn't have much time, the kiwi bus was a good way to cover the best that New Zealand has to offer. The routes were well thought out and in general, the journeys weren't too long. The coaches could have been comfier and better air conditioned. I would have liked to know beforehand how much extra I would have to spend - the initial cost is just the tip of the iceberg! The hostels they stay at aren't luxury, so don't expect 5 star accommodation. Better for a younger crew.

Easy and flexible travel
Really easy and flexible travel on great routes, but hard to stay with people you've met as it is so flexible- so the people around you change all the time. Good choice of activities as well.

Fantastic, Highly Recommended
Having travelled throughout New Zealand over 25 years ago. I was delighted to have the opportunity to return. With only a month this time to travel in New Zealand, the Kiwi Experience was definitely the best option to see as much of the Islands as I could in that limited time for the most reasonable amount of money. The route was great, taking me to all of the places that I wanted to see and more besides. The drivers, (one in particular, Bods) were a mine of information and local knowledge. It made the whole journey come to life. Exactly the right amount of wisdom and humour to make it the trip of a lifetime. The buses were comfortable and clean, always on time even taking into account the delays that the two cyclones hurled at us. Fantastic opportunity also to meet lots of different people from different cultures and countries. As an older backpacker, I was initially concerned that my age may have made a difference to my travel experience. It certainly did not. On the whole people were all friendly and interested in the other travellers. The chance to enjoy the wonders of NZ from The Hobbit Village, to the Abel Tasman to Queenstown and the joys of Bungie and white water rafting were made so much easier with KE. Both of my children are now very keen to travel with you. Thanks

Old car type uncomfortable for passengers
I traveled by camper with 4 friends. The camper was an old "type" and for the passenger on the back seats very uncomfortable. They always used the bed at travel time but this is not really safe. During rain, the water has passed through the roof window into the cabin. Very positive was the service. When trying to change the campervan everybody was trying to find a solution. Unfortunately everything was booked. Everybody was friendly and helpful. The change of towels and bed covers after one week worked perfect.
