Worth it!
Really great way to meet people amd a really easy way to see the country. The planning can be really easy and flexible (although keep in mind that the busses might be full from time to time so allow a few spare days in your planning compared to your bus pass). It is more expensive than traditional bus companies but definetly worth the extra bucks for A LOT of convenience. Also in the bigger cities it might be worth checking out other hostels than where the Kiwi bus normally goes since the Base and Nomads hostels can be quite expensive for a rather low quality hostel. Luckily the Kiwi bus will drop you off at other hostels if requested!

The highlight of my life so far!
Went travelling as a solo female and was originally a bit apprehensive about booking onto the Kiwi bus. How wrong was I!!! I was afraid the tour was going to be filled with 18/19 year olds and be more of a booze cruise type atmosphere! Instead I found it to be filled with plenty of people my age - such a mix of nationalities. Everyone was super laid back - I made friends for life on this trip :) I was originally worried about the lack of flexibility - however the fantastic drivers make it so apparent that they are there to help us. You can do exactly as you like! Stay as long as you like, wherever you want! However I totally recommend staying with the group because its so much fun! The bus journeys were short enough and really entertaining. Plenty of stops and stunning scenery. The locations we stopped at were out of this world. I have to say the Tamaki Maori village was the highlight of my trip without a doubt! The only let down was the stay in kaiteri ( you could do with getting a better hostel there - staff were outrageously rude and checkin was a nightmare! they dont deserve our money!) Overall, Kiwi takes the hassle out of travelling around NZ - you will have all the flexibility in the world, make incredible friends and get great discounts on all of the activities. Already considering doing it again!

Kiwi Bus Feb/March 2018
I had two great bus drivers during my experience and they were always really helpful and made the longer journeys fun by entertaining us with fun facts. The people I met on the bus have to be my highlight. I met light minded people from all over the world who shared a love for travel and new experiences. I was worried (at the age of 28) that I was going to be the oldest on the bus, but I wasn't (yay!) and there was a real range of ages and everyone got on well. I would recommend the Kiwi Experience to anyone wanting to see the whole of New Zealand in a short amount of time. I did it in 18 days and I felt the pace was just right.

BEST thing I did on my travels alone
I had briefly heard about Kiwi Experience and booked it on a whim as I was spontaneously traveling without knowing my next move. I barely made it on the bus at the first stop and had no idea what the next stop was but I happened to sit next to a girl who is now one of my life long best friends -- and not in the 16-year-old kind of "best friend" way. Everything is booked just for you and it is so easy. The people on all of the trips are SO friendly and cool. This trip is a DEFINITELY, MUST DO for all travelers (alone or not) you are guaranteed lifetime friendships and to see the country in a way you never could on your own!
