Travelling made easy

The trip was made easy on the bus with the process of booking everything, although it did get abit much when the drivers tried to sell you things all the time and you some hostles offered cheaper accommodation compared to the kiwi bus.

Stress-free way to travel NZ

Kiwi Experience makes travelling NZ so easy! Transportation straight to your hostel everyday, guaranteed beds at each hostel and a whole array of activities on offer. The bus drivers (especially Nancy) were fab! Big shout out to Nancy for his geographical explanations! From your front seat faves!

Amazeballs trip!

In November me and my friend purchased the Kiwi Experience Super Funky card. In March we were finally able to start our trip with Kiwi Experience, and it was great! Our bus driver was very clear, and we became his Dutch assistants, haha! Kiwi Experience has amazing bus drivers! I don’t remember all of them, but Richie, Lisa (we were on her last trip with Kiwi Experience), Cory, Tim, Wiggles are definitely unforgettable! They definitely made our trip even more special and more fun. When you are on the bus you get the club boards, which are amazingly handy! It’s very easy to sign up for different activities, and finding a hostel. Everything is done for you, in stead of doing it by yourself. Which we appreciated very very much. You can tell if you’re in a new bus, or an older one. The older ones are a bit less comfortable, a bit less space. But we survived, haha! We had an amazing trip with Kiwi Experience! We met a lot of people, made friends during the trip and learned a lot about the country (which is beautiful!!) Thank you soooo much Kiwi Experience! I had an experience of a lifetime.

Good choice

Didn’t have a way to travel round NZ when I arrived. Glad I chose this option. Very flexible and drivers informative and fun (from my experience). You can meet many like minded individuals which is awesome and you do a pretty comprehensive tour of NZ. The minimum time trip is too short because there is a lot of travelling.

Worth it!

Really great way to meet people amd a really easy way to see the country. The planning can be really easy and flexible (although keep in mind that the busses might be full from time to time so allow a few spare days in your planning compared to your bus pass). It is more expensive than traditional bus companies but definetly worth the extra bucks for A LOT of convenience. Also in the bigger cities it might be worth checking out other hostels than where the Kiwi bus normally goes since the Base and Nomads hostels can be quite expensive for a rather low quality hostel. Luckily the Kiwi bus will drop you off at other hostels if requested!

The highlight of my life so far!

Went travelling as a solo female and was originally a bit apprehensive about booking onto the Kiwi bus. How wrong was I!!! I was afraid the tour was going to be filled with 18/19 year olds and be more of a booze cruise type atmosphere! Instead I found it to be filled with plenty of people my age - such a mix of nationalities. Everyone was super laid back - I made friends for life on this trip :) I was originally worried about the lack of flexibility - however the fantastic drivers make it so apparent that they are there to help us. You can do exactly as you like! Stay as long as you like, wherever you want! However I totally recommend staying with the group because its so much fun! The bus journeys were short enough and really entertaining. Plenty of stops and stunning scenery. The locations we stopped at were out of this world. I have to say the Tamaki Maori village was the highlight of my trip without a doubt! The only let down was the stay in kaiteri ( you could do with getting a better hostel there - staff were outrageously rude and checkin was a nightmare! they dont deserve our money!) Overall, Kiwi takes the hassle out of travelling around NZ - you will have all the flexibility in the world, make incredible friends and get great discounts on all of the activities. Already considering doing it again!

Not a bad way to get around

I'm older than the average Kiwi Experience passenger and I was worried that I would hate it but I actually really enjoyed myself! I went to plenty of places that I would never have gone to if I was on the intercity bus and met some really nice people. I thought everyone would be partying all the time but I always found people who were keen for a hike instead.

Best experience of my life!!!

I bought the trip a few days before I start it, I was already in NZ and had no company to travel around the country.

Very niiice

Kiwi Experience was a nice experience with many other youngsters. We sure diddly did have a nice trip (my friends and I). The issues with getting a seat on some of the busses sure did get on my good old nervous nerves, but we darn sure got all the way around New Zealand on this godforsaken bus. Thank y'all
