Good service and functionalty

We travelled 3400 km on our 3 week trip. The motor home which had only done 12400 km previously was obviously in good nick. But we are experienced motorhomers and missed some of the things we are used to I.e. The diesel heating system only had one out of two blowers working in the lounge. the second outlet was not connected to the heater! The overhead hatches had no blinds and we had too much light in the mornings. We have never seen hatches without blinds before. We made covers with cardboard and fixed them up with blutack. There were no hooks to hang wet coats. Why aren't these in the toilet which you describe as a wet room. There were no cupboards for toiletries and not even a toilet roll holder. The overall standard of build and design was v. Good but let down by these small missing features.

Breathtaking Views

This was an amazing trip from the beginning. From the point. Was picked up in Auckland and brought all the way up to Cape Reinga and then back down through the north island and continuing down through the south to Christchurch. Every bit of scenery was so different. The stops we made for scenic walks and picturesque landmarks added to the history and details provided by the drivers. The drivers were extremely bubbley and definately helped set a uplifting vibe on the bus ride! The other passengers riding with Kiwi Experience we're in the younger generation for sure. I, being one of the oldest, found that staying with Kiwi experience half the time was more enjoyable due to the fact that I am a really laid back person and would like to avoid heavy partying everyday and a more mellow environment. The people were wonderful but definately more of a party atmosphere so unless that's the kind of trip you'd like I'd recommend doing what I did and just book the unique stays package and then find other accommodations with YHA or something on hostelworld.com. That way you get to branch out a bit. I enjoyed having some time on my own, which happened every couple of stops because you part from friends you've made along the way, I was really shy before the trip but by the end I was clicking with people no problem or hesitation. Plus with the slim pickings of stuck up, cliquy people everyone was really out going and bonded really well no matter what section of the world they were from! Loved this experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to see New Zealand north to south and experience it for what it's worth <3

Good and bad

Me and my girlfriend started our buspas by the end of januarry. In the begining we did find it pretty stressfull because all questions and conversation had to be done while driving. I can't see how that can be legale, and when you easely get dissy and ill when driving this was not something we were happy about. We experinced that the app was bad, and it oftenly informed incorrect prices. The waiting time for changing itinary were slow, both when e-mailing and calling. We did find it unfair that we had to pay for food at places like Lake Mahinapua when you are travelling on a budget. One of our first drivers (Jason) was very bad at explaining stuff and used the same sentences over and over, which made it hard to concentrate on the important info. Oftenly the check in was ridicouslesly slow, especially at Base. In general Base was the worst hostels to stay at, mainly because of bad service, no fridge space and because of the high prices. It was hard to have more nights than minimum time, as it was dificult to find accomodation and therefore also hard to plan your busses, which made it hard to plan ahead. All the paperwork and sheets could have been done so much easier for you on a tablet. The same idea Regarding booking busses, if you had a website, where it was possible to see which busses were available and not. Now the good things: we liked that we kept meeting people from the bus again and again. The drivers were in general nice and helpfull. Kiwi experince would be better if travelling on minimum time. It was nice that you have planned a lot of walks while driving, eventhough the some of the stops only were about photoes not enjoing.

Wonderful experience!

I bought my Kiwi ticket back in January and have been using it mostly for getting around the country. I think it's great because the drivers tell us more about the country while we're on the road and we've met some really nice people!

Great way to travel nz

Kiwi Experience offers a great way to travel New Zealand, especially for solo travelers visiting the country for the first time. You meet loads of like minded people on the buses and don't have to worry too much about organizing as you can book accommodation and many activities through your driver. It being a hop on hop off bus provides you with some freedom however you can't be super spontaneous especially in the peak season as the buses are usually very full.

Experience of a lifetime!!

We only had 3 weeks to travel NZ & the Kiwi Ex was everything we needed! We got to see both Islands and at a steal of a price. It was so easy and the drivers are ace fun!

Easy & cool tour

I bought the ticket 20 days before my arrival in Auckland. I got an offer for round about 650 AUD included the funky Chicken and Milford Sound Explorer. All in all its pretty easy traveling with kiwi experience but it's expensive as well if u will take all guaranteed hostels. So they stopped at the best spots and if u have any questions or wishes they try to answer them or make them true.

Fantastic Experience

I have just finished my Kiwi experience trip and all i can say is thank you so much! I have had the most amazing time, meeting so many new friends and taking part in so many wonderful activities that are truly once in a lifetime experiences. I wish i could have stayed longer to continue travelling as you could never get bored of the beautiful scenery. The bus drivers were all fantastic so funny to listen to on long coach journeys. Would recommend this trip to everyone. Becky
