Was the best way to travel for my first experience
I've never traveled before so had no idea what to do or expect and my first driver jana was very fun and helpful and within my first 2 days with her I was a pro and settled in with ease

Nice experience with some surprises
Kiwi experience is perfect to get around NZ, the drivers are professionnal but also good fun, the buses are clean and comfortable (not all of them have wifi though...) and it's a nice way to meet new people. However, there are a few negative points. The buses are really packed (even outside summer) and if you want to modify your trip dates you have to make it enough in advance otherwise you're on a "standby" list (which I wasn't aware existed until I was on one) and not sure tu make it to the next city on time (not good if you're on a tight schedule). Another thing is that you are always pre-booked in a hostel the night of your arrival in a town, which is nice at first sight but the thing they don't tell you is that you have to actually be on the bus to have this booking. I went to mount cook for one night and took the shuttle straight to Lake tekapo. I hadn't been informed that because I wasn't going to be on the kiwi bus from mount cook (twizel) to lake tekapo I wouldn't have a bed guaranteed for the night. it's not enough to have a Kiwi experience pass. So now I don't have any bed for tomorrow night and I don't know what to do. Kiwi experience is good but they don't tell you everything and often miss the main informations, and this is not professional.

Unforgettable experience!
I was travelling with Kiwi Experience for the last 5 weeks and had an really amazing time in New Zealand! Kiwi Experience is not only about the transfer itself but about the people you're surrounded by. The bus drivers have been funny and super friendly and the other backpackers on the bus have been extremely open minded. Because of Kiwi Ex I met so many beautiful people from all around the world who became friends. I guess traveling is not only about the places you're going to but also about the people you meet along your journey. The locations Kiwi chose to stop at have been great spots. Sometimes there was nothing around, so Kiwi Experience was creative and threw little partys - such as the Dress-Up-Party in Lake Mahinapua - which have been so much fun. Additionally, Kiwi provides you with a dozen activities and you can always ask the bus driver for help concerning whatever. There are great discounts on most of the activities as well fitting most of the backpackers' budgets. Sometimes the busses have been really busy and you couldn't spontanously change your schedule which was a bit unfortune but all in one you are very flexible and I am more than happy that I had the pleasure travelling with Kiwi Experience. To put it in a nutshell, my journey with Kiwi was an unforgetable time which memories will never fade. It was an awesome experience and I can only recommend travelling with Kiwi Experience. It was so much fund and I am really thankful for my time with them! :)

Interesting
I bought the ticket 5 months ago and using the bus pass as a matter of transportation was good because of the hop on hop off aspect but I couldn't imagine doing the tour in a shorter amount of time because it is really exhausting to sit on the bus the whole day...

Easy traveling
I bought my ticket in January this year and actually made my decision becaus it was 43% cheaper than normal. So it wasn't that expensive anymore. At first I really liked the idea of hopping on and off whenever you want to and expected that the driving times are not longer than 3 hours. When I started I realiesed that driving times can be much longer and that the busses can be full ... That's not a problem, but it should be a bit more clear on the website so that you know about that befor. I couldn't figguer that out while reading.

Best way to see the country!
Have been on the kiwi experience (Sheepdog) for the last month, and have had the best time. I've seen one of the most beautiful countries in a highly social environment while on the bus.

Great way to travel NZ
Kiwi experience has been a great investment. I've seen so many fantastic places in NZ and made incredible memories on activities along the way. Thank you to all the bus drivers!!

Incredible month
The kiwi bus worked out perfectly for me in New Zealand. I was able to meet loads of new people, many now being friends, and also see nearly all of the spectacular sights I wanted to. The route was excellent and changing buses wasn't too difficult. Only issue was occasionally poorer hostels, usually base or nomads, but it's easy to book separate accommodation so this isn't a major problem

Great way to experience NZ!
When we hopped on our first Kiwi Experience bus in Auckland we had no expectations, we just though it would be a good way to get around NZ. Once on the bus though, we realised that Kiwi Ex is so much more than just a transport. Our driver made the journey so great by telling us about the things we saw along the way and the people we met made our trip amazing! My only regret is that we didn't take the time to stay longer. The only thing I have to complain about is the accomodation and activities offered by Kiwi. We learned along the way that there were better and cheaper places to stay than the ones offered by Kiwi and also that some of the activities could be done with other, less expensive, companies. However, that is easily fixed by simply looking up places to stay on your own and doing some research on activities. Overall we had a great experience with Kiwi and I would absolutely travel with them again.

I bought this last year and started it now, after traveling with a car. I'm glad that I did it.
