Best 3 weeks of my life
Had the most incredible time from start to finish, met amazing people, saw incredible places and had so many fun experiences, whether that was white water rapids or just a night out with everyone. I’ll never forget it. The only thing I’d tell people is not to worry about pre booking the special accommodations and activities on the website. I forgot about some of the things I had booked and I had to change some activities. You get the chance to sort it all on the bus and it’s nice being able to change your plans if you want to stay with your friends. I will say the kiwi team were great at refunding me and letting me swap dates and stuff.

The people on the bus are not my cup of tea
De Kiwi bus is good to get from place to place, but as a 30-year old girl who does not come to NZ to party and drink, I felt little connection with the young people in their gap year. Fortunately, I was mainly couch surfing instead of staying in hostels, so once I was off the bus, I did my own thing with people I had more in common with :) The good thing about the Kiwi bus is that it's relatively cheap, they are very flexible in hopping on and off, and like I said before it gets you from place to place!

Great way to see New Zealand!
I had a fantastic Kiwi Experience! My itinerary was always flexible and the Kiwi Experience folks were accommodating. The bus drivers were all knowledgeable and helped create a sense of community on the bus. I can say that I left with some lifelong friends. The bus also makes it easy to book accommodation and activities. There are many to choose from in New Zealand!

Lifetime memories
Had been travelling 5 months prior to kiwi experience and it was definitely the highlight of my whole trip, met so many awsome people that I can now call friends. Made travelling a really easy and relaxing experience, you could put in as much or as little research and planning as you wanted and still have an amazing time. The bus drivers were all super friendly and helpful (especially Strech!) Although I had an amazing time there was some room for improvement, some of the 'recomended' hostels were pretty poor (I'm not fussy at all, Im pretty much happy staying anywhere, but I expect this to be reflected in the price) some were over priced, noisey, had dirty underequiped kitchens and alot were slow at checking everyone in as though they weren't expecting a coach load of people everyday! Although you're free to pick a different hostel it was sometimes difficult to compare prices as there was no information on the price until arrival at the hostel (the prices on the kiwi experience app proved to be inaccurate, not by much but it added up quite quickly) Overall my experience was really positive and I would definitely recommend!

Best 6 weeks
Really great fun, lovely stops along the way and apart from raglan and mount cook I felt like I went everywhere that I wanted to.

Amazing time!
I'm so glad I came on the big Green bus. :) i loved Ben and Ninja... you have lost a good one there with Ninja. Both drivers so informative but with chat and banter at the same time. Some of your other drivers need improving.. playing such loud music when you and the whole bus really have asked you to turn it down and the proceeded to turn it up even more if that is even possible.

Accidental backpacker :)
This was a great way to travel. Everything was planned but also very flexible. It was easy to make changes. The drivers were knowledgeable and there were surprises along the way. I met a guy at the skydiving place who was traveling by car by himself and he ended up downloading the kiwi experience app to follow the route because you guys have thought of everything. I never planned to stay at the hostels but ended up doing so in most of the places to be with the other guys and be part of the group. The money I saved was spend on activities instead. Best vacation ever!

our campervan was very old.
Our campervan was old and not in good conditions. It was only superficial clean and from one bed came a bad smell. The display who showed wastewater did not work. One bulb of the front of the car did not work properly so it was difficult to drive when it was dark. In the fridge, some drawer were broken. When we gave back our campervan, no one was there to help and no one was interested who our trip was. It was very hectic a lot of noise from honking in the garage. It is not a nice feeling when you finish your Holidays.

Really fun! Few tweaks needed!
We spent a month in NZ in total, with 2 weeks in the south and 2 weeks in the north. I found that chafing our itinerary’s was difficult - I think it would be a much better system doing it through the app rather than calling up, as not everyone has a NZ sim or access to a landline at the times the office is open! I also think the route from south to north island could be better - it seems a lot of people miss out on Kaikoura if they come from the north and finish in Queenstown or Christchurch, which is a real shame! Overall, the experience was great and the stops were a great part of breaking up the bus journey. Just a few tweaks needed to make it more of a seamless experience!
