Highly recommend

This was a brilliant part of our trip, neither me or my bf can drive so this was perfect because to get anywhere in NZ you need to drive. They took us to all the cities that are worth visiting and would often drop us off in nice little towns that had good walks or a tourist attraction. We felt that the experience allowed us to see as much of nz as possible and we had a great bus driver who would give us stories and information about the area. Also we did alot more activities than we thought we would do sometimes you go to places that has nothing to do apart from the activity. We made some good friends on the trip too there is a real sense of community on the bus. The thing i didnt like is that we had to stay in hostels called base which aren't nice they are always above a bar and its always very loud. You can chose to go to other hostels but sometimes have to make your way there.

bus tour

Had a really good time on the Kiwi Experience bus tour! It is well planned and a great way to explore New Zealand. The office staff were very helpful The bus driver/guides varied a lot though, some were really amazing while others were stressed and not always very approachable. 1even telling off the bus like a group of naughty school kids.

Very good experience

Everything is very well planned and easy for travellers. I would improve the WiFi in the bus, 300 mb per week is not enough. I also have to mention that one of the drivers I had (Gina) was very arrogant, she didn’t treat me well, in Mahinapua she said she thought I had to go to sleep because Inwas drunk and she was much more drunk than me, I am not a kid and no one has spoken to me like that since I was about 20

Absolutely Awesome Experience

I was a bit apprehensive about taking the Kiwi Experience bus, as I assumed it would be full of really young people and I had done all my own traveling with a camper or car when in Australia and other countries, but I'm so glad I did this trip, a massive age range! Good banter! Good drivers! And one of the best experiences of my life and at 27 i've done over 50 countries and been on many tour busses! This is by far one of thee absolute best! I can't recommend it enough. New Zealand has stolen my heart!!! And the friends I met on this bus will last a life time. Thanks Kiwi Experience

Epic experience!

I did Kiwi-experience with two friends as we wanted as little hassle as possible, so the planned itinerary, the guaranteed accommodation and an easy way to meet other travellers were what appealed. In this way it met my expectations, as having the trip organised meant we didn't worry about what we were doing or where to go. The only aspect I found stressful was the standby list, as if you weren't on your chosen bus it would mess up the rest of your trip. In high season especially you could be stuck somewhere for much longer than you intended, so my advice to others would be fully plan your busses in advance if you are on a tight schedule (we were there for 1 month, which although was plenty time to see everything was not enough to utilise the hop on hop off service properly.) Other than that my experience was epic! I've met friends for life amf can honestly say my month in NZ was one if the best in my life so far! Do it!!

Living a nomadic life.

We travelled New Zealand and experienced highs and lows living a nomads life. However, our first experence will be our last. Too cramped, to noisey and cumbersome when moving. When moving, cabinet and drawer doors kept opening and dropping out even when locked (or stuffedwit paper at the seams) and the microwave was not secured in place and ended up on the floor with a bent door and leaving a damaged floor. The Maui people were great and understanding at both on and off hire and we got to see some incredable sites.

Top spots from New Zealand

Had a great time in New Zealand and it's easy to get around with KiwiExperience. They show you the "must seen" spots & they can tell you a lot about their culture.
