Freedom to make, and change plans.
We hired an Explorer for 15 days travelling through both Islands. We were very lucky with the spring weather so only had to change our proposed itinerary a litle and Campermate makes this very easy to do. All our campsites were good, some excellent.

Excellent way to travel the country
I bought the Kiwi Experience Super Funky pass a few months before my travel. I'm pretty happy I did, because New Zealand is a very road dependant country when it comes to travel (unless you want to fly your way around, which saves time but is expensive). I couldn't drive since I was travelling solo and wanted to leave it up to someone else to do it for me. Whilst I expected to be navigating my trip by myself, I pleasantly found the Kiwi bus to help us organize everything we needed. From accomodation, activities, to history about the places we visited. Whilst sometimes the trips were long and we may have done two hour drives after each stop, it wasn't so bad with Bods' (our main driver - hilarious guy) well timed and informed commentary. We took time to stop at certain places to do short walks or well times hikes. I would recommend if doing the Kiwi bus to NOT pre book your activities (or just in general in NZ). They can sort that all out for you, and they're very weather dependant. Socially, it's a great way to constantly meet new people and form solid friendships. There'a always a crowd for different types of people. Personally, I like my space and pace myself with partying, however, there was a large group that would down drinks every night (yes poms, here's looking at you!). I did my fair share of rowdy nights with a lot of dancing, as well as some early nights in, and some star gazing. If you plan on making your own meals, good news is we get plenty of super market stops. Accomodation wise, if you would like to have some time and space to yourself, or not stay at a Base hostel and be kept up with the music all night, I'd recommend getting that sorted out yourself beforehand. All in all, 5 stars. I enjoyed it very much and WOULD recommend it to a first time to NZ backpacker.

Good fun, diffrent experience!
I came to New Zealand with no idea what to do what to see and how to manage it. I basically sat in a hostel in Auckland and asked myself why am I here. Because I knew a guy from New zealand who recommended KiwiExperience to me, i poped up the webside. You guys have a brilliant chatroom to get a first impression of how KiwiExperience works. Within an hour I booked my trip with 53% off!!!!!! What a nice offer!! The following day I started my journey the 'funky chicken trip'. I got to know some amazing people on the bus and the two busdrivers I had, Jared and Luke were so much fun! I was really happy that I hadn't had to look up activities up by myself and KiwiExperience always gave us good discounts. Especially the pubcrawls were the most fun and got us all closer together. All in all I had a fantastic time in New Zealand and would recommend it to everyone who visit it next! greetings Jelena Schmidt

The best time of my life!

I knew I'd always do this when I came to New Zealand, I met the most incredible people and seen the most amazing sights. Can't wait to come back to NZ.

Trip of a lifetime
Such an amazing way to see New Zealand, and meet people from all over! My drivers,Emily and Helly were so fun and made everyone feel at home! I made friends for life on the KiwiExperience.

Unreal- best experience ever
Can't flaw the kiwi experience everything was fantastic- the adventures, activities, the drivers, the recommended hostels! Perfect! Great opportunity for solo travelers to make friends as well as group tours! So much fun time flew too quickly! Highly reccomendable
