Fantastic experience but mediocre drivers
Had an absolutely fantastic time doing the kiwi experience. The variety is fantastic and the price is great. However, the experience varies greatly depending on who the driver is and there’s too many drivers that aren’t good enough. As a tour guide and driver, you need to love your job. However there’s buses full of people that were angry as the likes of Rick continues to drive despite his rude, aggressive and nasty attitude and simons jokes about s*xual assault

Car had problems, Maui didnt help
The car in general was ok, but there were many tiny things that didnt live up to our expectations. The house battery didnt keep the charge, we were 2 conssecutive days on a powered site and left at luchtime fully charged. At the end of the day there was no power left and we didbt have light, nor did the freezer work and we had to throw food away. This happened a few times. We told Maui and they exchanged the battery (did they?) but nothing changed. We couldnt do freedom camping as much as we wabted to due to this and had to go to Powered Sites on paid camping grounds (approx 44nzd per night). This cost us quite some money in total. Also the wastetank gauge didnt work, the display always said that the waste tank was empty. On the second day the wastewater came up the shower and i had to clean up the nasty stuff from the floor. I told Maui and the response was "Oh i bet it must have been disgusting". Period. No sorry, no attempt to fixing the display...Nothing. To sum up, we had nasty waste water in the car due to not working displays and lost money because the battery was old and bot working properly so we couldnt do freedom camping as much. Maui wasnt helpful at all. Considering that Maui is the most expensive rental company in New Zealand this is inacceptable. Therefore only two stars out of 5 and a recommandation to better go with ceaper companies.

Funny experience!
I Camembert to New zealand without a Plan. So I was looking for a good deal to travel in New Zealand. I found your page and booked this Trip. It was really a great and Funny experience to travel a month trough New zealand.

Great!
I did the south island with the kiwi experience and it was awesome! Met so many nice people and friends that will last a lifetime! The busdriver shows us around and made the group one!

Flexible, fun and Fantastic
At first I had reservations about the Kiwi Experience, however it turned out to be the best 6 weeks of a 6 month trip. The Experience is as flexible or guided as you would like it to be with the opportunity to meet great people and have amazing experiences; skydiving, bungy jumping, star gazing, luging and for some reason jumping off a jefty into 15 degree water. All the drivers are knowledgeable and can always point out or recommend cool stuff! I would recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure.

Absolutely amazing!
Wasnt sure what to expect from kiwi but it was better than we could have imagined! Met so many brilliantl people and did such a variety of things. I wouldn't never have pushed myself to do a Bungy or skydive without the trip so thank you!

Really nice tour of NZ!!!
I really liked this bus tour, because the drivers have endless knowledge of the Maori Culture, New Zealand History and so on... I bought the Wholekit and Caboodle and it was/is really good value for my money.

Good experience
Booked several months ago and enjoyed the trip however did feel pressured to do a lot of expensive activities and did also not like being taken to places with no other accommodation options. However the drivers, other guys on the bus and activities you do outweigh the cons.
