KIWI EXPERIENCE DRIVER'S ARE GREEN, NOT MEAN!
One of the things we love about Kiwi Experience passengers is their interest in giving back where they can as they travel this beautiful country. Our driver guide Karen is a self confessed “cat lady” (in the best possible sense!) and took it upon herself to raise some funds with passengers to assist Taupo SPCA and the Queenstown Cat Rescue who do such a great job looking after our furry friends.
We can always rely on the help of our Kiwi Experience friends – and a number of generous operators from around the country supplied prizes to help with the mission. Karen’s passengers paid a small entry fee for the right to compete in a number of games to win supplied prizes, with the winner taking away the prizes, and 100% of the entry money going towards the animals in need.
Passengers were also able to purchase raffle tickets for two big prize giveaways, one in the North and one in the South!
Then, on a non-travel day in Taupo, amazing driver guide Karen and some equally furry friendly passengers went shopping for toys for the animals, dropping them off at the SPCA along with the cash donation – before continuing on their Kiwi Experience! In Queenstown – cat rescue was incredibly grateful for our cash donation!
All in all, Karen and her bus raised just shy of $1000!
They were lucky to get to play with some super gorgeous animals awaiting a new home – and it was a nice way to give back mid adventure!
